The Château Ramezay Museum's permanent exhibition allows you to enter the history of Montréal, Québec and Canada from Amerindian prehistory to the early 20th century.
Exposition of rare and unique objects, witnesses to the daily lives of our ancestors. A
walk through the Salle de Nantes, a sumptuous room noted for its magnificent mahogany panels, and through the kitchen and common room which will transport you to the 18th century. |

| Life in Montréal in the 18th Century |
| Permanent exhibition |
You will be at the garden level, in the Château's basement. The solid, thick-walled vaulted structure dominates the space as in the 18th century. At that time, the city of Montréal was confined to what we now call Old Montréal. But it was a city at the crossroads of important trade routes and over time, its influences came from the French, Amerindians, British, Americans and others. The Château Ramezay is one of the few surviving witnesses of those days. Here, the walls speak and tell you of daily life in Montréal in the 18th century.
