Perhaps the greatest struggle facing churches is revenue. The cost of heating, cleaning, and insurance alone is, on average, $200,000 a year. This does not include renovations or maintenance, which often require specialized craftsmanship and trades. A new roof for an average sized church costs around $350,000. Here, at a fundraising event for a new roof, the MC of the evening asks people to give generously, and jokes about the church's willingness to accept any and all donations.
